Updated: Updated models and lowered all magnets to minimum height to prevent them being visible on lighter colours
Magnetic Paper doll with clothes. Dressing aid and educational / therapy tool to support children with language and communication difficulties.
This tool was designed to be used in learning and Speech and Language Therapy therapy and Occupational Therapy activities that support vocabulary development around dressing and body parts, sequencing, following instructions, organising and inferencing. For example, asking students to identify what clothing would they wear when it is cold, hot etc.
These have magnets inside them so they can be placed onto the body of the doll. There are several magnet points (one in the head, two each in the chest, legs and feet) and each item of clothing has magnets so they snap into place.
I am going to increase the amount of clothes on offer to include more variation on what is already available such as hoodies, hats, shirts etc. We will also be offering dolls with a range of skin colours in the future.
As with all items with smaller parts this MUST be used supervised. Magnets in particular can be hazardous if swallowed.
I have added magnet holders in the doll for headwear. I need to make these at some point but feel free to make and upload your own.
Uploaded a plate with some clothes made up but you can easily adjust these to suit your colour needs. Likewise with hair/skin tone.
This can be used without magnets or with hook & loop dots but i designed it to use magnets. 6mm x 3mm neodymium magnets is what i used.
Pauses have been added where possible but if you change the magnets you will have to change the pauses and probably the negative cylinder sizes (Leg L, Leg R, Chest L, Chest R etc) to accommodate the new size of magnet.
One caveat. If you adjust the layer height, it might show the magnet layer on the print. If this is the case you need to lower the Z height of the magnet to accommodate the new layer heights. For simplicity it's best to leave the layer height alone.
