Description
Mount for Dye i4 Paintball Mask on Helmet
Since I couldn't find a suitable solution, I designed a mount for the Dye i4 Paintball Mask myself. The holders are inserted into the existing receptacles of the mask in place of the original elastic band
Depending on print quality and material, it may be necessary to lightly sand the plug-in areas. This makes it easier to insert and remove the holders
To attach it to the helmet, I replaced the original M6 screw, which secures the side mount and the chin strap, with a longer M6 screw. The new screw then needs to be shortened to the required length
The images show part of the development from the first prototypes to the current final version. My holders have been printed from ABS so far. A version made of PA-CF is still planned, but I haven't had time to test it yet
The mask is bent quite significantly by the holders so that it sits neatly and as tightly as possible under the helmet. I use an XL sized helmet. For smaller helmet sizes, the mount may not fit without adjustments
I have also uploaded the STEP file so that the holders can be adapted to other helmets or personal requirements if needed
For me, the helmet, mask, and mount have already withstood several game days without issues
Note: This mount is a private, self-designed construction and not a tested safety component. Please check the secure fit of the mask and all fastenings before each use. Modifications to the mask or helmet are done at your own risk
