A good friend wanted me to build this radio bag but it was for a different radio. I decided since I couldn't find a bracket for the Radioddity DB20-G I'd make one. I also wanted to make sure it was a fairly straight forward, drop-in solution. I had ordered most of the parts off 4x4_Fam's list and when they arrived I got to work.
The bracket has a fair amount of features:
- Handle with Frequency bands in the print (Non-Color to keep it simple)
- 50mm fan exhaust hole with mounting holes
- Side mount for factory mic holder
- BNC bulkhead bracket - reinforced
- Direct-mount upper bracket for the Radioddity DB20-G radio
- Integrated battery tray for the 12v 10ah LiFePo battery with drain hole
- Many holes and wiring routing options
When mounted in the bag this is a lightweight setup that allows for long range communication between you and others. Depending on the amount of communication, this should last a weekend of backpacking (Approx. 15-20 hours of mix use). It's an easy and compact solution for storing in your vehicle or UTV. Since it's portable, you can take it to a high peak or tree for maximum range.
