Visual Learning Tool: 3D Printed Fraction Board for Kids

Fractions are often one of the most challenging topics in primary school. I wanted to make full set of fractions from 1 till 1/10   - a physical, colourful, and durable learning aid that allows children to "touch" and assemble fractions like a puzzle.

Included in the set:

• 1 convenient base (organizer) for storing all parts (if you print second base, it can be used as lid)
• 10 full circles, each divided into equal parts ranging from 1 to 10 (55 pieces in total).

• Each denominator has its own bright, distinct colour to aid visual memory.

   

For printing use the profile provided - main things in my profile:

• Arachne wall generator - better for text that is on build plate
• Paint penetrating levels  - 2  (no need to print deeper)

• First layer filament sequence - is set to black. So the numbers are printed first, then the disk. This is important, so the numbers are crisp and precise. Please ensure that numbers are printed first, if you change something in the profile. See below:

   

In plate settings: First layer filament sequence. The colour in what will be the numbers must be first. 

1. plate is print by layer - disc for 1 is the same colour as base plate. 

2-4 plates  are print by object, for easier and faster print. 

For A1 MINI choose Profile for A1 MINI, base is printed as 2 objects - connect them as puzzle pieces.
