Description

B-HITCH Home Base

This is a wall-mounted expansion to the B-HITCH ecosystem, moving the system from your belt to your, hallway, or workshop wall.  It acts as a central docking station so you can slide your standard B-HITCH base attachment straight off your belt and onto the wall the second you walk through the door.

The Details

  • A single dedicated bay shaped to fit the standard B-HITCH base mechanism perfectly.
  • Includes four built-in lower hooks to catch traditional keyrings, car fobs, or carabiners.
  • Features an embossed topo design that prints completely support-free and clean.
  • Mounts with two countersunk screw holes on the sides so it sits completely flush against the wall.
  • The countersunk screw holes have modifiers to include 100% infill this is key to retaining strength when mounting.
  • My tests have been on an X2D but it does fit diagonaly on the bed on an A1 Mini.

Print & Fitment Tips

  • Print it flat on the build plate. This gives the lower hooks the best possible layer alignment for strength and ensures the topographic details look sharp.
  • Standard PLA is completely fine for normal indoor use. If you're mounting it in an area that gets hit with direct sunlight (like next to a front door window or in a hot porch), go with PETG to make sure it handles the heat and UV without warping.
  • The docking slot is designed with tight tolerances. Just slide your B-HITCH key attachment in and out of the slot a few times before screwing it to the wall to smooth out the action. (This is only necessary with the tighter toleranced part).
  • Both the Leatherman and Knipex holder mount directly onto the Home Base.

What's Next?

This is part of an ongoing modular lineup. I'm working on alternative faceplate styles and specialised tool attachments that will lock right into this same low-profile footprint. If you have ideas for specific attachments or feedback on the fit, let me know in the comments!
