Description

This enclosure replicates the Abydos cartouche from Stargate, and serves as the housing for the electronics of my DHD32 project: a fully functional replica of the Dial Home Device from Stargate SG-1, featuring address dialing, LED animations on the chevrons and ring, and sound effects.

Why this enclosure?
I wanted a discreet, screen-accurate look that could neatly house an ESP32, a DFPlayer Mini audio module, and all the wiring, while still allowing easy access for maintenance through screws rather than fragile snap-fit clips.

Technical details:

  • Dimensions: 200 × 60 × 40 mm
  • Assembled with brass inserts + M3 screws (no fragile clips, easy to open)
  • The two closing screws are hidden under the first and last symbol of the cartouche, keeping the look clean and accurate with no visible hardware
  • Designed to house an ESP32 DevKit + DFPlayer Mini + LED wiring

Source file included
The F3D (Fusion 360) file is included with the model, so you can freely adapt it to your own electronics, add extra cable passages, or tweak the dimensions to suit your needs.

Matching door/cover
To complete this enclosure, I used a door from this kit, which I'd recommend: Stargate SG-1 Deluxe Model Kit

This enclosure is part of my full DHD32 project. You can find the firmware and a detailed write-up on my blog: egamaker.be (⚠️ blog content is in French only)
