HAND SHADOWs Collection of Shadowgraphy Fake Props
Print Profile(1)

Description
This project is inspired by a rare collection of shadowgraphy tin fakes used by hand-shadow performers of the past. While many shadowgraphy acts relied entirely on the hands and fingers, famous magicians and shadowgraphers such as Okito and Edward Victor occasionally used simple props like hats, faces, hairpieces, trumpets, and other accessories to create more elaborate characters, visual gags, and humorous scenes.
The goal with this project is to help revive the nearly forgotten art of hand shadows within magic and variety entertainment. These pieces are recreations of classic shadowgraphy accessories that can be combined with hand shadows to produce unique silhouettes and storytelling possibilities.
I do not have instructions or illustrations showing the intended use of every shape. Much of the fun is in experimentation; holding the pieces in front of a light source, combining them with your hands, and discovering new characters, scenes, and effects. Some pieces may correspond to classic routines such as the barber scene, while others invite entirely new interpretations.
You might need to adjust the shape sizes depending on how large your hands are.
