Pull-cord switch | Kids can reach

  • Converts a standard Type 86 switch panel into a pull-cord switch, allowing children who are not tall enough to turn lights on and off themselves, while the slider switch on the panel makes it convenient for adults to operate
  • Minimalist style, suitable for single and double switch panels, installed by embedding it into the gap between the front panel and the back panel/wall, involving no circuit modification and no wall damage
  • The internal self-locking switch mechanism is driven by rubber bands, providing a light and smooth pulling feel

Notes:

  • After installation, please test the pulling strength and ensure it is secure before allowing children to use it
  • Applicable panel specifications: button bezel ≥3mm, front panel height 7mm, button protrusion height 5mm

As dimensions may vary slightly among different brands, I have uploaded the STEP model file, which can be used for modification if it doesn't fit. Alternatively, you can leave a comment with the dimensions and brand, and I will try my best to modify it

  • Each button requires 2 1.4x20mm rubber bands. I used the rubber bands from the Maker's Supply starter kit. You can purchase rubber bands of the same specification or try using existing rubber bands by wrapping them multiple times as a substitute

Assembly Guide:

2026.06.22 Updates:

  • The cover has been added with a limiting device to prevent the self-locking switch box from being slowly pushed out after repeated switching, leading to it not being able to reach the switch
