Pool Cover Eyelet / Fixing Grommet for Solar Covers

Practical two-part screw eyelet for securely attaching straps, ropes, or tensioning bands to pool solar covers.

The eyelet is inserted through a hole in the cover from below and screwed on from above.

The large contact surface distributes the tensile force and reliably prevents the cover from tearing.

I specifically developed the eyelet for my pool cover reel with 23 mm wide fastening straps.

Assembly

  1. Punch or cut a hole with 29-30 mm diameter into the solar cover.
  2. Insert the bottom part through the cover from below.
  3. Screw on the top part from above.
  4. Thread the fastening strap through the eyelet.
  5. Attach the strap with the original adjustable clips or eyelets of the reel.
  6. DONE

Tip: Assembly is easiest if the bottom part is held at the web with combination pliers while the top part is tightened by hand.

Technical Data

  • Hole diameter cover: 29-30 mm
  • Outer diameter: 45 mm
  • For straps up to 25 mm width (possibly wider)
  • Two-part screw construction
  • Tool-free assembly possible

Print Recommendation

  • Material: PETG, ASA or similar UV-resistant material
  • No PLA recommended for permanent outdoor use
  • 5 walls
  • 15% infill

Ideal as a replacement for original solar cover reel clips, pool covers, and similar applications.

Because, of course, a piece of string through a hole usually only lasts until the first gust of wind. 😉
