Ant Bait Station for Liquid Ant Baits
Tested with Loxiran® Liquid Ant Bait.
This bait station was designed specifically for liquid ant baits and was developed based on personal experience with severe ant infestations.
The original trays included with many liquid ant bait products generally work, but they have several disadvantages. They are often very small, hold only a limited amount of bait liquid, and are not always immediately recognized by ants as an attractive food source. Due to their design, ants often have to actively climb into the tray instead of simply following their natural path.
This alternative bait station takes a different approach. The gentle ramps act like a small mound along the ants' walking route. Ants can simply walk across the station and naturally encounter the bait liquid. This makes the bait easier to discover and easier to access.
In addition, the station offers several practical advantages:
- Significantly larger bait capacity
- Less frequent refilling required
- Easy access via gentle ramps
- Bait liquid remains accessible even as the level drops
- Reduced risk of ants becoming trapped in the liquid
- Reusable and easy to clean
- Ideal for refill packs that do not include bait trays
In my own testing, the station was readily accepted by ants. During heavy infestations, large numbers of worker ants gathered around the bait within a short time. Thanks to the increased capacity, sufficient bait liquid remains available for extended periods, reducing the need for constant refilling even during severe infestations.
