Description

Step into a tiny magical workshop filled with glowing potions, old books, scrolls, and a little bit of alchemy.

This diorama is designed as a detailed 3D printed display object. Arrange the objects and bottles however you like and create your own little alchemist’s corner. Let the magic of the glowing potions grab you.

Glowing Potions Without Wiring

This model uses the new Wireless Inductive Coil Kit, so no individual LED wiring is needed.

The potion bottles simply sit inside the bookshelf. When placed, they start glowing through induction. You can freely move and rearrange them, so try different positions and see where the light effect works best.

To power the lights, you only need:

  • Wireless Inductive Coil Kit
  • USB-C cable
  • Standard USB power supply

In the Bottles and the Windows the smaller LEDs CD43 fit, in the Candle and Lantern the bigger CD54 will perfectly fit, but also the smaller ones.

Use 4 M2x5 Screws for the board and 3 M2.5x6 Screws, if you want to fix the wall and the ground.

Potion Bottles

The inside of the bottles can be printed in almost any filament color you have. I used a mix of basic green, blue, yellow, translucent blue, normal blue, red, and other colors. Because the LEDs also have different colors, you can mix filament colors and LED colors to get many different magical effects. A blue LED inside a green or translucent bottle can look completely different from a red or yellow one.

The clear bottle glass was tested with clear PETG.
The PETG glass part is simply pushed over the colored inner bottle part, and the small LED is pushed into the bottom.

Printing Notes

Most parts are easy to print with a single nozzle printer.

For some smaller decorative objects, a two-nozzle / multi-color printer is recommended to get the best result, especially for:

  • Books
  • Parchments
  • Chest
  • Barrel

These parts for sure can also be printed in single-color. The diorama is meant to be arranged creatively. You do not need to glue the bottles into fixed positions. Place them in the shelf, move them around, and create your own glowing potion display.

Used Filaments

  • PLA Basic & PLA Matte in different colors for the bottles
  • PLA Translucent Blue for the window
  • PLA Cocoa Brown for all wooden parts
    • You can also try other brown or wood-style filaments
  • PLA Galaxy Green and Brown for books and other small details
  • PLA Matte Latte Brown for the parchment
  • PLA Basic Dark Grey for the stone wall and floor
