Description
No more need for the expensive jigs. This adjustable dovetail and box joint jig is much easier to use and creates tails and pins just as tight if not tighter an much cheaper. Have the pins and tails poke through for sanding later of adjust the jig and make them flush. You can even use a range of material thicknesses.
I have used this jig many times with my students and it has held up to their inexperience well.
Highlights
- Simple to use - all that is needed to set this jig up is a piece of scrap timber and 5 wood screws. Just screw the fixing plate to the timber, place the jig over the top so the pins fit into the groove. Adjust the position and screw the jig down.
- Adjustable - the jig slides backwards and forwards to allow for different angle dovetails and thicker stock.
- Allows for a range of stock thicknesses - the sliding feature means that the jig can be moved so that a variety of timber with varying thicknesses can be used.
- Effortless to change between joints - just unscrew the jig, flip it around and screw back into place to change from dovetail to box joints. 30 seconds and you are done.
Tips
- Don't screw down too hard, as the filament could split.
- Always ensure that the trimmer/router is started and powered off while in position on the jig.
- Always have a back up ready to go.
