D&D Mind Flayer Arcanist - 50mm Illithid Boss
Print Profile(1)

Description
The terror of the Underdark arrives to claim the minds of your adventurers! This premium miniature represents a fearsome Mind Flayer Arcanist in a pose of absolute intellectual and magical superiority.
Featuring a 50mm scenic base, this figure is scaled to occupy the space of a Large creature on tactical role-playing maps. The design breaks away from the classic basic robed mind flayer, showcasing a powerful wizard in heavy plate ceremonial robes, an ancient grimoire open and ready to cast a spell, and a twisted staff crowned with psionic fire (IMG_7677.jpg). The base includes cobblestone ground textures with runes and even small remnants of destroyed books or scrolls at its feet.
- Ideal for: Main villains in Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder campaigns, or underdark dark fantasy skirmish games.
📊 D&D 5e Stats (Boss Statblock for the DM)
Make your players fear Intelligence saving throws with this enhanced boss version:
- Armor Class (AC): 16 (Psionic protection robes)
- Hit Points (HP): 110 (17d8 + 34)
- Key Attributes: INT 20 (+5), WIS 17 (+3), CHA 18 (+4)
- Passive Ability - Brain Devour: If the creature incapacitates an adventurer, it can use an action to extract and devour their brain, dealing massive damage.
- Boss / Psionic Actions:
- Psychic Blast (Recharge 5-6): The Mind Flayer emits magical energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw (DC 16) or take 5d8 + 5 psychic damage and be Stunned for 1 minute.
- Spellcasting (Grimoire): By carrying its spellbook, it has access to spells such as Suggestion, Dispel Magic, and Wall of Force.
🛠️ Recommended Print Settings
- Supports: Due to the staff extended to the right, the open book floating to the left, and the subtle overhang of the facial tentacles (IMG_7677.jpg), it is mandatory to use tree supports. Configure a thin support interface so that when removing them from the lower area of the tentacles and hands, the robe textures are not damaged.
- Layer height: To maximize the sharpness of the book pages, staff lines, and the fine runes surrounding the circular base, it is highly recommended to print at 0.12mm or lower (or optimized for resin).
- Painting suggestion: A purple, violet, or teal skin tone with a glossy finish on the tentacles will give it that characteristic wet and alien look. Contrast its robes with gold trim or dark fabrics to achieve an imposing boss finish
