Stripe lives between the Mist Meadows and the edge of the Hollow Forest, where light filters through the branches, casting long stripes on the ground. He likes to stand still, watching the shadows, because he says the stripes help bring order to what seems confusing. One afternoon, he watched as several shadows crossed a smooth stone, one after another. They didn't all appear at once: each stripe revealed a different line, momentarily forming a section of the ancient path. Then Stripe understood a small part of the mystery. Zoora's clues were not broken or incomplete: many could only be read in parts and in the correct order. From that day on, Stripe no longer tries to understand everything at once. Now he knows that the ancient path also reveals itself step by step. Moral: Sometimes, to understand something grand, you first have to learn to read it little by little.
