A free Boost is the best way to support my work and helps me create even more giant builds like this one. Thank you! 😊

Bring Home a Legendary Shield! 🛡️

This project recreates the iconic Captain America shield in a large 610 mm (24") format while remaining fully printable on a standard 256 × 256 mm build plate.

Unlike many flat shield models, this version features a true curved profile, giving it a much more realistic and impressive appearance whether displayed on a wall or carried as a cosplay prop.

Whether you're a Marvel fan, a cosplayer, or simply looking for an eye-catching display piece, this shield is guaranteed to stand out. 😎

Features

  • Final diameter: 610 mm (24")
  • Realistic curved design
  • Compatible with 256 × 256 mm printers
  • Modular assembly
  • Built-in alignment guides
  • Rear handles included
  • No AMS required

Printing

Filaments Used

  • Eryone Ultra Shiny Ultra Silk PLA Red
  • Geeetech Silk Silver
  • Bambu Lab PLA Basic Blue

Supports

Some parts require supports.

The most significant ones are:

  • The center star
  • The blue center section

A few other parts require small amounts of support material, but nothing major compared to those two pieces.

All supports are already configured in the provided 3MF files.

Ready-to-Print Files

All 3MF files are provided already:

  • correctly oriented
  • pre-arranged on build plates
  • support configured
  • ready for slicing

Simply open the corresponding plate in Bambu Studio and start printing.

Assembly

The shield is divided into multiple rings to make it compatible with standard-sized printers.

All parts include built-in alignment guides that make assembly easier while also preventing incorrect part placement.

Recommended assembly order:

  1. Print all parts
  2. Glue each ring separately
  3. Assemble the rings together
  4. Install the rear handles

Rear Handle Options

Two configurations are possible:

  • Use a simple elastic band
  • Use a strap up to 13 mm wide

The handle system can be assembled for both right-handed and left-handed users.

Dimensions

The finished shield measures approximately 610 mm (24") in diameter.

For scale reference, the photos show the shield being held by a person who is 185 cm (6'1") tall and weighs 97 kg (214 lbs).

If you feel like a true Captain America, simply scale the model to 125% to obtain a shield of approximately 76 cm (30"), matching the commonly accepted life-size dimensions. 💪

Design Notes

  • Optimized for printers with a 256 × 256 mm build volume
  • Ring segmentation designed to minimize visible seams
  • Curvature carefully tuned to create a realistic display piece inspired by the movie props
