ELF MAGIC SHOW – Magic Box for Elf on the Shelf

The show is about to begin!

Who said elves are only for mischief?

With this spectacular magic box for Elf on the Shelf, your elf can become a true illusionist and present one of the most famous acts of all time: the classic saw-a-person-in-half trick

A fun Christmas scene that will surprise the whole family and have the little ones trying to figure out how it's possible... without finding the answer

Mischief Ideas:

Option 1 – Two Elves, One Great Show

If you have two elves, one can become the magician while the other is the brave assistant

Set the scene at night, place the assistant inside the box, insert the saw into the slot, and close the small decorative padlocks. The magician elf can hold the saw handle, giving the impression that we caught him right in the middle of the act

The next morning, the children will find the show frozen at its most exciting moment

Option 2 – The Unexpected Volunteer

You can also use any articulated doll of similar size (e.g., Ken type or equivalent)

Simply separate the doll at the waist, insert each half into one end of the box, close the lids, and place the padlocks

The illusion is surprisingly convincing, and when night comes, you'll just have to open the box, reassemble the doll, and prepare the elf's next mischief

The set includes:

  • Disassembleable magic box
  • Two independent lids
  • Magician's saw
  • Two decorative padlocks
  • Support feet
  • "Elf Magic Show" logo for multicolor printing with AMS
  • I will soon upload a version of the lid without inscription for those who prefer to print it without AMS
  • All parts are available in STL format, except the lid with the logo, which is included in OBJ format to facilitate coloring in the slicer

If you don't know how to color OBJ files, you will find an explanatory video at the end of this post

Assembly:

The box has been designed referencing a Naughty Elf, although it is also compatible with a standard Elf on the Shelf. In this case, the head protrudes from one end and the legs from the other, just like in the classic illusion act

Once the lids are closed, the small decorative padlocks help maintain the illusion

The saw slot has been designed with minimal clearance, just a few tenths of a millimeter wider than the blade. This small detail makes the saw appear to pass completely through the box, increasing the realism of the effect and making it difficult for children to discover the trick's secret

The result is a fun, surprising scene perfect for adding a new adventure to your Elf on the Shelf mischief collection

Next, place the elf leg set in the larger compartment, orienting the feet upwards. This piece is part of the Elfic Fashion Set, a collection of interchangeable accessories for Elf on the Shelf that includes pants, skirts, footwear, hats, belts, suspenders, and other complements compatible with different mischiefs from the collection

If you do not yet have the Elfic Fashion Set, you can download it from this LINK

Once the leg set is in place, fold the Elf on the Shelf's legs back on themselves, as shown in the image on the right. You can also fold them towards the back if it's more comfortable

Once the box assembly is complete, assemble the saw by inserting the blade into the handle's housing. Then, insert the two decorative screws into the handle holes to complete the assembly

Given the small size of these parts, it is advisable to apply a small drop of glue to the screws to prevent them from coming off during use or handling of the model

Features:

Print profiles:
