I present my design: the Creeper Mate, printed and designed with love for blocks. 🧱
Tired of boring mates? This cubic mate captures the iconic essence of Minecraft's most feared (and beloved) creature. It's the perfect gift for that friend who always runs out of torches!
✨ Highlights:
- 👾 Authentic Cubic Design: The Creeper's face is perfectly integrated into the mate's geometry. Attention to detail in every block!
- 🧉 Safety and Functionality: This is NOT just an ornament. It is designed with a precise recess for inserting a mate-suitable polymer inner cup. This is crucial! The inner polymer acts as the actual thermal cup to hold hot water, keeping your mate at temperature and protecting the external PLA/PETG print. ✅
- 🛠️ No More Melted Mates! Extreme heat can deform common printing plastics. By using the polymer insert, you ensure that the external Creeper structure remains perfect. Safety first! 🔥☕
- 🚀 Tested Print: Made to print without supports (see details below) and with a perfect fit for standard polymer cups.
🔧 Printing and Assembly Details:
- Suggested Filaments:
- Body: PLA Green "Creeper" (or PETG for greater ambient temperature resistance).
- Face: Matte Black PLA for the perfect contrast.
- Recommended Print Settings (tested on my Bambu Lab):
- Layer Height: 0.2mm (or 0.24mm if you want speed, it looks just as good).
- Supports: ❌ NOT REQUIRED! Designed for efficient bridging.
- Walls: 3-4 walls for greater robustness.
- Infill: 15% - 20% (Cubic or Gyroid).
- 📋 Important Assembly: Once the parts are printed and assembled, simply insert the pre-purchased polymer mate cup (you can easily find them in sublimation or mate supply stores). It should snap in perfectly.
