Description

Parametric TPU Dust Shoe Bristle Strip

A fully parametric bristle strip for CNC dust shoes, printed flat on the bed in flexible TPU. Print it, cut the bristles in half, and mount the two interlocking halves around your spindle.

 

How it works

1. Print — single flat piece, no supports
2. Cut — slice the bristles at the midpoint
3. Mount — the two halves clip around your dust shoe; the dovetail lip and groove snap together to form a continuous ring

 

Bristle geometry

Each bristle strand is built from your exact nozzle parameters — line_width and layer_height — so the generated geometry matches what your printer actually produces. Choose between two cross-sections:

- Triangle — pyramid profile (wider base, tapered tip), more flexible
- Square — uniform rectangular profile, stiffer

Multipliers let you scale the bristle cross-section: a width_multiplier of 2 with a 0.4mm line gives 0.8mm-wide bristles; height_multiplier of 2 with 0.16mm layers gives 0.32mm tall.

 

Interlocking edges

The two edge bars feature an optional dovetail lip-and-groove with adjustable angle (default 5°). TPU's flexibility lets the lip snap past the narrow groove opening and lock into the wider cavity — no glue, no fasteners. Toggle it off if you only need a single-sided strip.

 

Customizer parameters

Everything is adjustable — strip length, bristle length/spacing/shape, edge dimensions, dovetail angle, single or double-sided, and interlocking on/off.
