Description

A simple and repeatable depth gauge for setting up a honing guide for chisels or plane blades.

For both the depth marked 1 will give a 25° degree angle for the primary bevel. The depth marked 2 will give a 30° angle for the secondary bevel.

I find it easiest to barely tighten the jig just enough that there is not play but without tightening it, then sliding the blade/chisel to the correct depth. Once it's there, then you can tighten it down properly and get sharpening!
