Description
This is my artistic interpretation of the legendary Paracas Skull.
While researching and recreating these fascinating artifacts, I wanted to create a version that felt less like a clean museum reproduction and more like an object freshly recovered from an archaeological excavation.

Together they make an excellent display pair and offer two unique interpretations of one of archaeology’s most fascinating mysteries.
Using Blender, I manually added additional weathering, surface damage, erosion patterns, cracks, imperfections, and age-related details throughout the skull to create a more realistic and visually dramatic display piece.
The result is a skull that feels ancient, worn by time, and shaped by centuries beneath the earth.
Inspired by my travels throughout Peru and my fascination with archaeological mysteries, this version is designed specifically for collectors who prefer a more cinematic and realistic appearance.
If the standard version represents what the skull may have looked like in life, this version represents what it might look like after being rediscovered centuries later.
Recommended Filament
For the most realistic appearance, I highly recommend:
eSUN Bone Filament
The natural bone coloration provides an excellent foundation for additional weathering and painting.
Support Settings
After extensive testing, I found Version 2 of the skull produced the cleanest overall results with reduced support scarring.
For best results:
- Support Filament recommended
- PETG support interfaces work extremely well
- PLA supports were used for my own test prints with great success
Take extra care when removing supports around detailed areas.
Weathering Guide
My weathering process included:
- Black acrylic wash
- Yellow acrylic wash
- Small highlights of white acrylic paint
After wiping away excess paint, I added additional yellowing around the teeth and worked real dirt into the cracks and surface textures to simulate decades of burial underground.
The added Blender detailing really comes alive once paint and weathering are applied.
Display Recommendation
This model looks fantastic inside an illuminated display cabinet, museum case, curiosity cabinet, or mystery-themed collection.
