H0 Cumberland Railway station platform

Description
Model Description
This model is inspired by the Western Maryland Railway's Cumberland station platform and is an excellent fit for Era III layouts.
The platform's height and width are specifically designed for layouts with a 77 mm track center-to-center distance and raised roadbeds. This includes systems like the Roco GeoLine roadbed track, which measures 9.4 mm from the floor to the rail top and has a roadbed base width of 38.5 mm. The platform's width matches the minimum clearance between parallel tracks created by turnouts, which is 37.5 to 38 mm.
Design & 3D Printing Tips
- Sidewalls: These are mesh bodies created via texture extrusion.
- Pavement: This features a solid design.
- Slicer Tip: Both components look best when the "ironing" setting is enabled in your slicer.
Kit Contents
One complete kit includes:
- 1 x Base
- 1 x Pavement
- 8 x Sidewalls
- 1 x Pillar set
- 3 x Pillar bases
- 5 x Cerossbars
- 1 x Roof
- 1 x Billboard frame
- 2 x Billboard insert (for 16x16 mm print)
Some ornamental elements and benches are also included in the kit.
Important Notice regarding Clearance
According to NEM 102 standards for H0 scale (1:87) on straight track, the overall width requirement is 48 mm, meaning a clearance of 24 mm must be maintained from the track centerline in both directions.
As shown in the included Fusion 360 sketch, this platform design slightly encroaches on the standard NEM 102 straight-track clearance. However, in my own testing with various locomotives and rolling stock, this has not caused any operational issues.
