Disclosure Day – The Device (Movie Replica)

One of the most mysterious objects in Steven Speilberg's Disclosure Day.

Known simply as "The Device", it appears throughout the film as an object of immense but largely unexplained power. It is used to communicate, influence people, and later interact with technology, yet its true nature remains an enigma.

🎬 A recreation from memory

I saw Disclosure Day and immediately wanted to model The Device.

The challenge?

At this time there are virtually no clear reference images available online, so this version is based primarily on my recollection of the film and the limited details I could find afterwards.

Rather than waiting for reference material to appear, I wanted to see how close I could get while the movie was still fresh in my mind.

🛸 Accuracy and future updates

From what I could determine:

- The Device has a heptagonal-to-rectangular form
- It features a series of unusual symbols
- It has a metallic appearance

I've recreated the symbols as I remember them from the film, but as better reference material becomes available I expect to refine and update the model.

If future images reveal inaccuracies, I'll update the design where practical.

For the most screen-accurate appearance, I recommend printing in a metallic or silk filament.

🚀 Getting in early

I fully expect more versions of The Device to appear over the coming weeks as reference images become available.

This is my attempt to recreate it before that happens.
