I use 3,7V Li-pol for powering it. I recommend using some kind of recommended resistor. These 3W LEDs are pretty strong and if you put 5 in parallel, you get 15W LED light which is really strong and it will heat up a lot. Thats why I recommend putting the 3d printed soldering jig away once you get them all soldered so the diodes have chance to cool down.
