Description

Scallop Wave Forming Tool for Clay Plates

Create beautiful hand-shaped scallop plates with this simple forming tool, designed to work perfectly with my Scallop Cutter collection.

Place the tool underneath a freshly cut clay slab and gently press the scallops down with your thumbs. The rounded profile creates soft, flowing curves that resemble the natural waves of a seashell, giving your plates a handmade and organic appearance.

Unlike sharp folds or rigid molds, this tool helps create subtle transitions and elegant scalloped edges while maintaining the character of hand-built pottery.

Features

  • Designed to fit the Scallop Plate Cutter collection
  • Creates soft shell-like scallop curves
  • Helps form consistent waves around the rim
  • Perfect for decorative plates, trays, ring dishes, and serving pieces
  • Easy to use with slabs of various thicknesses
  • Can be scaled to match larger or smaller cutter sizes

How to Use

  1. Roll out your clay slab.
  2. Cut the shape using the matching scallop cutter. This is where you can find the fitting model. Want it larger? You need to size both models up.
