Battery Box Pro

After trying several battery organizers and not finding what I was looking for, I decided to design my own Battery Box Pro

The goal was simple: to create a compact, practical, and easy-to-print container to finally keep the most frequently used batteries at home organized

🔋 Capacity

  • 16 AAA batteries
    • 12 green slots (charged/ready for use)
    • 4 red slots (used or to be checked)
  • 12 AA batteries
    • 8 green slots (charged/ready for use)
    • 4 red slots (used or to be checked)
  • 5 slots for button cells
    • CR2025
    • CR2032

Total: 33 batteries

🟢🔴 Smart Identification System

One of the main features of the design is the immediate distinction between available batteries and batteries to be checked

🟢 Green = charged/ready for use batteries

🔴 Red = used, discharged, or to be checked batteries

The colored edges remain visible even with batteries inserted, allowing for quick identification of each slot

🛠 No Support Required

To make printing simpler and cleaner, the model was designed with separate components

This allows each part to be printed without supports, achieving better surface quality

After printing, simply assemble the components with a small amount of glue

🔩 Assembly

Components to assemble:

  • Decorative side strips
  • Bottom feet
  • Battery holder insert

The strips and feet can be printed in your preferred color

🔗 Filament Hinge

The hinge simply uses a 1.75 mm filament piece as a pin

Advantages:

  • economical
  • robust
  • easy to replace
  • simple to assemble

🧲 Magnetic Closure

The lid integrates small recesses for mini magnets

The magnets are not meant to forcefully lock the lid but to prevent accidental openings during use or transport

🎨 AMS Version

The AMS version includes:

  • Multicolor front logo
  • Green and red insert indicators

🎨 Non-AMS Version

A version for those without AMS is also included

The only differences are:

  • Front logo
  • Internal green and red indicators

All other components are separate and can be printed in your desired color:

  • Box
  • Lid
  • Decorative strips
  • Feet

📦 Required Materials

  • PLA or PETG filament
  • Cyanoacrylate glue
  • 1.75 mm filament scrap
  • Mini magnets (optional)
