"Sparrow" Reef Tank System Gen 1 - with Integrated Rear Sump + Algae Refugium + Live Rock Chamber + Protein Skimmer + Turbulent Outlet + Coral Stand + Feeding Trough + Tool Holder

         Sharing a highly integrated 20-spec 3D printed desktop reef tank, suitable for bedroom placement, quiet and durable, with full functionality for a small tank, hence it's called 'Sparrow', symbolizing 'small but complete'.

I. Integrated with three main structures: built-in rear sump, top-mounted algae and live rock chamber, and storage base, minimalist and tidy, without redundant messy accessories.

1. Built-in Rear Sump System (independently partitioned, multi-purpose chamber)

• Circulation Pump Compartment: dedicated space, neat water flow, stable water circulation
• Heater Compartment (also functions as top algae refugium return pump compartment): dual functionality, accommodates heater while also suitable for top algae refugium water return, maximizing space utilization
• Biological Filter Media Chamber: large capacity for filter media, efficient bacteria cultivation, stable water quality ecosystem

2. Top-Mounted Algae and Live Rock Chamber (ecology + filtration + storage three-in-one)

• can place macroalgae, live rock, to build a natural ecosystem, stabilize water and inhibit algae
• comes with protein skimmer space, filter floss compartment, achieving dual purification of physical filtration + protein skimming
• integrated equipment storage rack, neatly stores equipment, keeping the tank clean and tidy

3. Integrated Storage Base

       Provides stable support, can store tools and miscellaneous equipment, enhancing overall tidiness and practicality.

II. Complete Set of Accessories

The complete unit comes with a full set of practical accessories, ready to install and use upon receipt: wall-mounted coral stand, bottom deflector rack, independent universal coral stand, wall-mounted feeding trough, aquarium tool holder, auto top-off unit, and universal turbulent outlet. Standard configuration includes the full set of accessories for the Dinghai 03 modified needle wheel protein skimmer, directly achieving efficient protein skimming.

Finally, some ramblings from the author:

1. Originally, I always wanted a needle wheel protein skimmer, but encountered numerous difficulties along the way, modifying countless versions without being able to improve bubble production, and it was prone to overflow. Ultimately, I returned to the simple and efficient air-driven protein skimmer. At the same time, I designed a special four-way connector that parallels a UPS air pump and an AC air pump, so that for emergency use, a small flow of air can be directed into the rear sump to flush the biological filter media, increasing the survival rate of nitrifying bacteria. Moreover, with both the top-mounted algae and live rock chamber and the biological filter media chamber aerating simultaneously, biological density can be increased within a limited space. I consider this a rather clever design;

2. The space behind the bottom storage rack is for placing a Mijia smart socket, further enhancing integration, making it simple and aesthetically pleasing;

3. Parts that require gluing include the aquarium tool holder and the universal coral stand;

4. The slot on the back of the base is for installing a Mijia smart socket;

5. After creating a BOM list, I realized I had spent a total of 700 yuan on buying organisms, equipment, and tools (not including consumables). Looking back, many things were unnecessary but still cost 549 yuan. The reef tank hobby truly is expensive.
