Description
N Gauge Model Train Layout – Mount Beerwah Runner
Bring a piece of South East Queensland to your railway with the Mount Beerwah Runner, a compact N gauge layout inspired by the iconic Mount Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains.
Standing at 556 metres above sea level, Mount Beerwah is the highest of the ten volcanic plugs that make up the Glass House Mountains. The surrounding region is well known for its scenic landscapes, native bushland, and extensive soft pine plantation forests. This model captures the character of the area in a practical, display-friendly railway layout.
The layout measures approximately 90 cm x 60 cm and is constructed from 12 terrain tiles arranged in a 3 x 4 grid, plus 4 additional sections that form the summit of Mount Beerwah. The mountain rises approximately 10 cm above the base level and features a railway tunnel passing directly through its centre. The tunnel has been designed wide enough to accommodate long passenger carriages, while the removable summit sections provide convenient access to the track hidden beneath the mountain.
The outer loop includes a gradual incline and a bridge crossing, adding operational interest and visual appeal to the layout.
Designed specifically for the Atlas N Scale Code 80 Snap-Track Starter Set (#2788), this layout allows builders to create a complete scenic railway with minimal track planning.
