Dilophosaurus (meaning "two-crested lizard"): A theropod carnivorous dinosaur from the early Jurassic period (approximately 190 million years ago), with fossils primarily found in the southwestern US (Arizona and other areas); it was approximately 6–7 m long, slender, bipedal, and agile, with a pair of thin, fragile bony crests on its head, which were more for display/identification than for use as weapons. There is no reliable evidence to support that it could "spit venom" or had an expandable frill – those were cinematic liberties taken by "Jurassic Park" for dramatic effect.
