Description
The Breachwarden: Keeper of the Ember Rift When the catastrophe known as The Breach began, the portal guardians knew the Ember Rift could not be closed. The Riftstone ring had become fused to reality itself. Destroying it would have torn countless worlds apart. Instead, they created a single guardian. Forged from the same Riftstone as the portal, the Breachwarden was bound directly to the Ember Core. A fragment of the Core was placed within its chest, linking its existence to the gateway forever. As dimensions collided, the Breachwarden fought beside the guardians, holding back creatures that emerged from worlds beyond comprehension. When the final seal was cast, the portal shattered at its peak, leaving the permanent crack that remains today. The guardians vanished. The Breachwarden remained. For centuries it has stood watch over the Ember Rift. The runes carved into its armor change whenever the portal gains a new rune. Its stone body bears thousands of fractures, each one glowing faintly with energy leaking from worlds beyond. Yet there is one mystery even the oldest records cannot explain. Beneath the ruins surrounding the Rift lies a forgotten network of chambers built before the portal itself. Deep within those halls are references to three ancient bindings created during the final days of The Breach. The texts claim that while the portal was the lock and the Breachwarden was its keeper, neither was ever meant to stand alone. Most scholars dismiss the stories as myth. But every time the Ember Core awakens, distant tremors can be felt beneath the mountain. Strange runes appear in places where none existed before. Fragments of broken stone have been found engraved with symbols matching those on the Riftgate and the Breachwarden. Something buried beneath the ruins is beginning to answer the portal's call. And if the ancient writings are true, the Breach was never held back by a single guardian. It was held back by something far greater. "The portal is the lock.
The Breachwarden is the key. But the seal was forged from more than one hand."
