DECATHLON sunglasses MH 570 replacement arm V1
Print Profile(1)

Description
I designed this replacement arm (Version 1) for my DECATHLON Category 4 polarised sports sunglasses MH 570 because I sat on the original pair and snapped the arm off. Instead of throwing away perfectly good lenses, I modeled a new one.
The hinge geometry is modeled to slide right into the original Decathlon frame. It can be mirrored to the left side if needed.
Why PETG for Version 1?
The original arms are made of a flexible material, but I used PETG for this version to make sure it is strong and lasts in hot weather. I plan to try TPU in a future version to get that original flexible rubber feel back, but this PETG version is great if you want something solid that holds its shape.
My Print Settings & Tips
Here is how I printed it on my Bambu Lab A1 to get clean hinge details:
- Material: PETG (for strength and UV resistance).
- Orientation: Print the arm on its side, with the angled section pointed upwards.
- Supports: Turn on Tree Supports.
- For a Perfect Finish: If you have an AMS, use PLA as the support interface layer. PETG and PLA will not bond together, so the support acts as a perfect flat mold for the 20-degree overhang and snaps off easily leaving a clean surface.
- Bed Adhesion: The footprint on the bed is very narrow, I got away with not using a brim or raft but that is up to you.
