M4x16 BHCS Machine Screw (5PCS) - AA067

Description

Anyone who owns the SH01 will know that it can't release the moisture during drying unless you open the lid. But that solution wasn't fancy enough for me, so I drilled two big holes into my filament dryer and stuck some valves I made into them.

If you want to do the same, you'll need a step drill like in the photo and drill a hole 28mm in diameter. Then secure the inner part with some glue or double-sided tape, push an M4 Nylon Insert Lock Nut into the nut-shaped hole, and secure the whole thing with a M4x16 screw. Adjust the tightness as needed.

I also recommend adding some Silicone grease, such as the stuff used on lead screws, just to make turning the valves a little smoother and to serve as a basic seal.

You don't have to put your valve into the front of the lid. I just put mine there because I like it that way. Putting them into the top of the lid should be a little more efficient since moisture and warm air rise.

Oh, and you're doing this at your own risk, I am not taking any blame for broken dryer lids.

You can find the Hygrometer mount seen in the photos here.
