Description

Adjustable Irrigation Dripper for 4mm Tube (v5)

I finally managed to create a low-flow dripper that is both highly adjustable and reliable. You can tune the flow rate between 0.1L/h and 0.5L/h or more. This dripper comes in two types, a line-end dripper and an in-line dripper.

The dripper is made of two parts which are screwed together more or less tightly. This allows you to finely adjust the flow rate, especially with a rubber O-ring of about 10mm diameter. The O-ring is only needed for ultra low flow rates (below 0.5L/h). If you are ok with higher flow rates you don't need the O-ring as it basically also works without when screwed together very tight.

Note: Most plants do not like soggy soil 24/7 so I suggest using it without O-ring for shorter watering periods of 2 to 4 hours if you have a tank that supports that kind of volume of water. Let the irrigation system drain the tank once a day and fill it up again the next day. That way the roots get access to oxygen between watering cycles and you avoid rot.

Other Parts of my Irrigation System

This is a single part of my custom designed irrigation system which I will publish piece by piece as I make it. I'll update this post once published, in case you are interested.

Other parts:

My test setup with different dripper nozzle designs and a water tank (hose, t-piece and valve are external parts but I'll try to make them all printable, except the hose):
