To insert the shelves, simply hold a finger underneath. Optionally, they can also be glued in

If you glue the shelves in, simply apply 4 dots of superglue to the corners on the underside and insert them as shown here. They will then stick firmly to the holding devices. (Requires a little bit of finesse, but it works :) )
