Description

Alfa Romeo 156 MK1 - Cup Holder & Storage Tray

Description

Anyone who owns an Alfa Romeo 156 knows that one of the car's weak points is the lack of practical places to put drinks and small everyday objects.

I designed this holder to make use of the space next to the center console, creating two cup holders and an additional compartment for a phone, keys, coins, or other items.

The model was developed and tested on an Alfa Romeo 156 MK1

  • Two cup holders with a 70 mm internal diameter.
  • Front compartment for small items.
  • Compatible with Monster cans, sodas, and most drinks of similar size.
  • Does not interfere with the handbrake or the use of seat belts.
  • Allows a phone to be placed horizontally or vertically.
  • Discreet design that integrates well with the vehicle's interior.
  • Easy to remove if you need to revert to the original configuration.

Notes

Depending on the size of the drink used, there may be a slight interference with the gear shifter, especially in left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles.

The model was created for personal use and shared with the Alfa Romeo community. Improvements and remixes are welcome.

Required Materials

  • 2 x M5 screws with 30mm
  • 2 x M5 nuts 4mm tall
  • Strong double-sided tape (used on the prototype) but i think the better way is with press heat inserts that i dont have
  • Silicone coasters (optional, recommended to reduce noise)

Assembly

  1. Remove the original rubber mat from the center console.
  2. Drill two holes in the plastic base of the console, aligned with the holes in the holder.
  3. Insert the M5 screws from the bottom.
  4. Secure them using M5 nuts and put the spacers to not let the nuts escape
  5. Tighten until you achieve a solid fit.
  6. Apply double-sided tape between the base and the cup holder.
  7. Position the cup holder and press firmly.
  8. Install silicone coasters at the bottom of the cup holders (optional).
  9. Check that the handbrake, seat belts, and gear shifter function properly.
