Desktop Embodied AI Robotic Arm: RIG-Arm Open-Source Control Platform | Large Model Driven + Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Kinematics + Multimodal Interaction
Print Profile(1)

Description
With just one 3D printer + one electronics kit, you can own this five-degree-of-freedom desktop AI companion
As the third embodied milestone in Luwu Intelligence's RIG series, the smart desktop pet RIG-Arm (Chinese nickname "Kaka") perfectly balances hardcore geek control with desktop companionship aesthetics. It breaks away from the cold and rigid design paradigm of traditional industrial robotic arms, innovatively adopting a streamlined "Organic Futurism" configuration, combined with a four-way aluminum reinforced base and an independent head interaction system. It is not only a desktop control master that can perfectly solve inverse kinematics (IK) but also an embodied intelligent manipulator that displays a fascinating sense of cybernetic life on your desk
Full-stack self-developed, rewriting the embodied brain Kaka uses a high-performance ESP32-S3 chip, equipped with Luwu's full-stack self-developed LUWU OS system. The device directly connects to Luwu's official cloud, completely establishing an "end-to-cloud" ecological closed loop. Relying on powerful cloud scheduling capabilities, Kaka deeply integrates with large language models such as Qwen/DeepSeek, can understand complex instructions, achieve semantic-level complex path planning, and provide feedback with distinct "personality"
Exclusive ecosystem, imbuing a unique soul With the official mini-program "Xiao Lu Tong Xue", you can not only achieve one-click Bluetooth fast network configuration but also unlock a deep "Agent cultivation system". You can freely switch dedicated AI Agents and dynamically configure character settings. When thinking, it will slightly shake its joints to adjust its posture; when listening to questions, it will adjust its head angle to focus its gaze; through long-term companionship and interaction, it will evolve a personality imprint unique to you
Open source and open, exploring unlimited creativity Continuing the pure open-source hardware and Maker ethos, Kaka fully supports 3D printing of its casing and open-source base code. Whether as a visually striking daily stress-relief companion or for in-depth learning of robotic arm path planning and multimodal control, RIG-Arm provides you with endless space for exploration
Why choose RIG-Arm
💡 True intelligent interaction, anthropomorphic dynamics with head-body decoupling Kaka's emotional expression is no longer cold, pioneering deep decoupling of visual perception, robotic arm path planning, and end-effector control
- Wake-up word: "Xiao Lu Tong Xue"
- Supported commands include:
- "Praise it" → Robotic arm happily dances + full-color expressions on the circular interactive terminal flash
- "Report to me" → Robotic arm precisely extends forward + head tilts sideways to show an adorable "head tilt move" that captivates everyone
- "Ask/Think" → Multi-joint high-frequency fine-tuning to find the optimal path + head tilted forward for focused gaze
- "Start detection" → Activate GC0308 camera + robotic arm moves its head for multi-dimensional wide-range scanning in space
- "Perform spatial tasks/Pass objects" → Inverse kinematics (IK) precise positioning + end-effector control for grasping
⚙️ Revolutionary "hardcore joint stacking + high-rigidity base" black technology
- Five-degree-of-freedom organism: Multiple degrees of freedom are reasonably distributed; within a small desktop space, the trajectory planning of each joint is smooth and precise, maximizing the mechanical manipulation aesthetics of "embodied intelligence"
- Aluminum reinforced tumbler: The four-way aluminum reinforced base provides excellent physical rigidity and anti-overturn capability. The modular configuration reserves abundant expansion space, maintaining rock-solid stability whether facing a cluttered desktop or external modifications
🎨 High-value + highly playable multimodal accessories
- 1.09-inch full-color circular TFT screen: High-dynamic display of cyber-style expressions and agent status, significantly enhancing emotional connection during human-machine collaboration
- GC0308 HD camera: 300,000 pixels, providing multimodal visual AI capabilities, supporting image-to-text and multimodal command interaction
- Dual-axis, dual-output 009 bus servo: Integrated throughout the arm, small in size, lightweight, with serial bus angle feedback
- Universal platform-based control solution: The control solution is strictly consistent with the RIG-Puppy and RIG-Hover of the same series, allowing seamless migration of code and algorithm models
🔌 Minimalist electronic architecture, bidding farewell to messy wiring
- Fully cascaded bus architecture: Highly integrated interconnection of multi-axis high-performance bus serial servos, full-cascade single-bus communication, with extremely simplified internal wiring
- Motherboard integrated charge and discharge: The motherboard integrates a charging control circuit, supports USB-C direct charging (5V/1A), providing stable, hardcore self-balancing and continuous operation
Other Notes
- Detailed replication and assembly documents and open-source materials are available on Luwu's official Wiki Yuque documentation
- Official Wiki: https://www.yuque.com/luwudynamics/pet
- GitHub repository: https://github.com/LuwuDynamics
- Taobao electronics kit pre-sale: Coming soon
- Printing preset parameters: Multi-color single plate (AMS required), the model's preset printing angles and supports are already set, ready for direct printing. Supports the full range of Bambu Lab printers (As the primary working model is A1, the configuration files are mainly for A1). If printing results are poor, sticky, or have excessively large tolerances, please change filament and print after drying
We hope everyone can work together to improve Kaka's shortcomings and enjoy 3D printing
