Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you had fun with this model or like the design, please consider boosting! It helps me make more cool models like this!

This is a set of glider parts compatible with a popular brick toy! It can be used to create a glider of your own style with under 45 grams of filament and bricks most people likely already own. If it's used properly and you have some patience, this is a fun challenge to build your own unique glider!

Tips to fly: There are certain things that make a glider more likely to fly (and less likely to break) depending on design, weather conditions, and throwing technique.

  • Lighter is better: A lighter glider can fly longer and farther, so avoid adding too much extra weight.
  • Balance is key: If your glider is unbalanced, it will not be able to maintain level flight. one way to test the balance is to see where the glider balances on your finger. if it balances at the center of the wings, it will be more stable. If not, move around parts until it works.
  • Wind: Your glider can likely fly in the wind, as long as you are throwing in the right direction. If the wind hits the side of your plane, it will constantly roll and crash. try to fly in the direction the wind is coming from for the best results.
  • Throw light: When you are first testing your plane, throw lightly to avoid a harsh crash. If your plane is heavy, start increasing the power of your throws.
  • Keep trying: You won't get a perfect glider first try. If something doesn't work, try to understand the problem and how to solve it. If you have any issues with your designs, feel free to message me or leave a comment on the model.

If you don't know where to start, here are some example planes I made:

Remember, I am happy to help if you have any questions about the model or issues with your designs. Also, feel free to share pictures of your planes! I would love to see what you create!

I will add a list of challenges to complete soon, stay tuned!
