Drop it in water… and watch it glide like a real manta ray.

Bring the ocean to life with this interactive gliding manta ray toy.

When you drop it into water, it smoothly rises and “swims” forward, mimicking the natural motion of a manta ray in the sea. No motors, no electronics, just pure physics and clever design.

Perfect for:

  • Kids water play
  • Pool experiments
  • Educational STEM demonstrations
  • Relaxing kinetic motion viewing
  • 3D printing enthusiasts who love functional toys

Assembly Manual: ‘Think twice print once’:

How it works

The design is carefully balanced so that when submerged, trapped air + buoyancy + shape interaction with water create a smooth forward gliding motion as it returns to the surface.

Adjust the “wings” to control how it glides — change its direction and speed with a simple tweak.

Printing notes

  • No supports required
  • Recommended material: PLA / PETG (PETG improves durability)

Pro tips

  • For improved water resistance and long-term durability, apply 1–2 light coats of clear varnish to the main body.
  • If you prefer not to treat it, simply let it dry in a place where any trapped water can drain out safely after use.

This is not just a model, it’s a mini underwater physics experience.
