I want to break the boundaries between “angels” and “nature”, creating an imagery of “guardianship and symbiosis”.
Unlike the previous version, this version optimizes the supports, making them easier to remove, and printing with a 0.2 nozzle will not affect the final result.
Using pure white PLA material, I sculpted an angel with downcast eyes: she wears a hooded robe, her hands gently pressed against her chest, her posture gentle and devout, as if whispering, and as if listening. Her wings are not entirely feathered, but rather, within the texture of the wings, withered tree-like branches grow – the feathers stretch upward, pointing to the sky like faith; the branches extend downward, merging with the intricate root system of the base, deeply rooted in the earth.
I deliberately made her silhouette soft, without sharp edges, allowing the lightness of the feathers, the strength of the tree roots, the drape of the fabric, and the ruggedness of the branches to collide and merge within the same work. The pure white tone is meant to strip away all distractions, allowing viewers to focus on the dialogue of the form itself: this is both an angel growing from the mundane world and a life that has grown wings, yearning to ascend. She protects the earth and is nourished by it, a symbiosis of faith and nature, fragility and resilience.
