Description

Decorative box inspired by traditional Japanese joinery and clean woodcraft aesthetics.

The box is assembled with interlocking panels and wedge-style locking pins, creating a mechanical construction style without screws. The visible joints and locking pins are part of the design, giving the box a crafted wood-like appearance while keeping the assembly clean and functional.

This model includes a wood grain visual effect designed for easy color printing. The colored version uses only bottom/top layer color changes, so you can achieve the wood-like pattern without complex multicolor printing through the entire model.

A single-color textured version is also included, with the wood grain engraved into the surface for a cleaner monochrome look.

Assembly note

Install the wedge-style locking pins in the same orientation they were printed, with the build-plate side facing down.

Printing Notes

For the colored version, the wood grain effect is created using color changes only on the bottom/top layers. This keeps the multicolor process simple and avoids excessive filament waste.

Make sure the build plate is very clean before printing. Isopropyl alcohol is highly recommended. A well-calibrated first layer is especially important, since the visual quality of the color-change texture depends heavily on a clean and consistent first layer.
