Shape Options
Several shelf shapes are included:
- Rounded
- Straight front
- Square
- Hex corner
- Chamfer left
- Chamfer right
- Cutout
- Diagonal cutout
This allows you to generate anything from a simple rounded corner shelf to more modern angular or asymmetric designs.
Decorative Slats
Optional slats can be added to the visible front faces.
Available options include:
- Vertical slats
- Diagonal slats
- Engraved slats
- Raised slats
They can be used to create a more modern, architectural, or decorative look depending on the selected shelf shape.
LED Groove
An optional LED groove can be generated under the shelf.
Two LED styles are available:
- Down lighting
- Wall-wash lighting
This is useful for ambient lighting, indirect lighting, decorative setups, or highlighting a wall corner.
The LED groove is optional, so the shelf can also be printed as a simple solid shelf without lighting.
Raised Border
An optional raised border can be added around the shelf.
This is useful for:
- Preventing small objects from sliding off
- Creating a tray-like look
- Adding a more finished decorative edge
- Making the shelf visually stronger
The border height and thickness are adjustable.
Wall Mounting
Hidden rear keyholes are included for floating wall mounting.
The model supports:
- M4 screws
- M5 screws
- Automatic minimum thickness adjustment for stronger M5 keyholes
The keyholes are placed on the wall-facing sides, keeping the visible front clean.
A separate mounting frame can also be generated.
Mounting Frame
The optional mounting frame can be printed separately and used as a positioning or support aid.
Two styles are available:
- Split parts
- Flex notch
Split parts are safer for rigid materials like PLA because they avoid forced bending.
Tips
- Use suitable wall anchors depending on your wall material.
- For heavy loads, use stronger screws and proper wall plugs.
- M5 mode automatically increases the minimum shelf thickness for better strength.
- For LED use, check your LED strip width before printing.
- For best visual results, use moderate slat depth and spacing.
- Raised slats are more visible, while engraved slats are more subtle.
- A raised border is useful if the shelf will hold small objects.
- Very large shelves may need stronger mounting and thicker material.
- Avoid extreme settings if you want the cleanest print result.
- Print orientation is handled by the MakerWorld plate modules.
- Matte PLA or PETG gives a clean modern finish.
- For stronger shelves, increase wall count and infill around the keyhole area.
