There are already several USB protectors for the H-Series available on MakerWorld. However, most of them are designed for specific USB flash drives, some of which can be surprisingly expensive—up to €60 for a single drive.

While searching for a more affordable alternative, I noticed that many manufacturers sell the exact same or very similiar USB stick under different brand names and labels. Based on this widely available and budget-friendly model, I designed this protector.

The USB stick is available from various vendors and in different storage capacities. My version cost around €6. Since the drive is only used to store backup copies of printer files, I am not concerned about maximum read/write performance or long-term durability. In my Case its an Intenso 3500470 Micro.

The protector features a small retaining tab that is clamped between the glass panel and the printer housing. This mounting method keeps the ventilation area on the front completely unobstructed.

A recessed grip on the top allows the USB stick to be easily accessed and removed even while the protector is installed. Due to this design feature, support material is required for printing.

The Protecor is 7,9mm high (without the retaining tab)
The Opening for the USB Drive is 16,2mm x 7,7mm
