Anyone who knits socks knows the problem: When does the toe shaping begin? How long is the foot exactly? This sock ruler takes the guesswork out of the knitting process. Simply insert it into the sock (the curve mimics the human heel) and directly read the exact centimeter measurement and the corresponding shoe sizes.

Print Recommendations (Print Settings)

This model has been optimized for maximum readability and dimensional stability.

• printer profile: 0.20mm Standard (or 0.30mm Standard for faster printing).
• Material Recommendation: * Base: PLA (e.g. Bambu PLA Basic in a dark color like blue/navy blue for high contrast).
  • Lettering/Scale: PLA (e.g. Bambu PLA Basic Yellow, White, or Neon for optimal readability).
• Infill: 15% – 20% (Gyroid or Grid).
• Walls/Layers: At least 3 wall lines (perimeter) for stable, smooth edges, to prevent snagging knitting threads.
• Tip for printing without AMS: If no AMS is available, simply insert a layer change stop (M600) in the slicer at the exact height where the embossed lettering begins.

Application: How to measure correctly

1. Insert the sock ruler with the curve ("heel") first into the knitted sock until it is flush with the back of the heel.
2. Gently smooth the sock (do not stretch it extremely, but as it would sit on the foot).
3. Read on the right side at which centimeter mark the corresponding target size for the toe shaping is reached.
4. Once the mark is reached, begin decreasing for the toe!
