Description

Here is the new and improved Milwaukee packout stubby and socket organizer. This is made to fit in a packout organizer (Model # 48-22-8435). It is also meant to hold the Milwaukee 3/8" impact socket set (Model # 49-66-7009) and it fits either the 1/2" drive stubby (Model # 2563-20) or the 3/8" drive stubby (Model # 2562-20). I also highly recommend not printing this in PLA. If you're leaving this kit in your car or in the sun at all PLA will melt and deform. I recommend PETG at the very least. I've posted a couple of models very similar to this one and after all the feedback I've received, I made a couple of revisions:

  • There is now a dedicated spot for the 3" extension and universal joint. My last organizer had these in the small bin in the bottom left-hand corner, but they now have their own spots. I also highly recommend getting an 8mm x 3mm magnet and installing it in the spot provided underneath the universal joint. It keeps it from falling out if the packout is bumped or dropped

  • Additional height has been added to the tray in the bottom left-hand corner. I got a lot of feedback about sockets and accessories falling out of this tray because it was not tall enough, so I fixed that.

  • More room was added around the impact for a snug but not too snug fit. Also, there were many different versions before depending on the anvil size of the stubby. Ive now narrowed that down to a one size fits all design that will accommodate either stubby no matter what drive size

  • Made it easier for the impact to be pulled out of the organizer by adding a larger relief on the left side.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the last times ill update this model. I'm honored by all the feedback I've received as well as all the boosts and prints on the 2 older models. This was never meant to be a public project. I originally designed it for my own personal use because the ones out there I didn't like and the ones for sale were way too expensive. I'm glad I went public with it because it has been nice to get feedback and comments on it. It has helped me make a more refined final product.

Before anyone asks this will not fit the boot. I personally have not tried it but Ive gotten feedback that its really tight. I would have loved to make that happen with this final revision, but this organizer is already pretty packed as it is. With the amount I would have to open up the stubby tray id be better off just starting over with a fresh model. Also, there is not a dedicated spot in the organizer for the 1/4" hex to 3/8" drive adapter. It comes with the socket set but since you can't use it with the stubby, I didn't include it in there.

Boost Me (for free)

I would really appreciate it if you could boost this model. I learned CAD on my own shortly after getting my first printer to make it as effective of a tool as possible. Most of these designs were never meant to be public. The boosts and prints really help out with motivation to continue to design and post new models in the future. Expect more from me in the future!
