Wooden Swing Arm|Swing Arm Lamp Stand|Monitor Swing Arm|Articulating Arm
This is a modular articulating swing arm, made by connecting 3D printed joints with standard wooden strips and round wooden dowels.
I upgraded the lighting in my workshop by installing this swing arm, which can clearly illuminate every work area, making it very convenient.
It is also very suitable for DIY desk lamps, microphone stands, or camera stands.
The parallel linkage design ensures stability and smooth movement.
Materials required:
- 4 wooden strips with a cross-section of 15x25mm, (Reference: I cut mine from plywood, my strips are 500mm long), both ends of each strip need to be chamfered and drilled with 4mm holes.
- 1 wooden dowel with a diameter of 30mm as the main pillar (Reference: my dowel is 750mm long).
- 10 M4x30mm hex head screws, 8 M4 nuts, and two additional M4 heat-set inserts to be installed in the printed thumb nuts.
- One M4 self-tapping screw, used to install the stopper at the bottom of the pillar.
- 4 M2x10 self-tapping screws for installing cable clips (Cable Clip-S), (optional).
- The Roof Base is installed on the ceiling using M6 screws, please prepare according to your own situation, (I made a separate wooden base to enhance stability).
- Connected to the lamp head with M10 screws and nuts, please prepare according to the specific requirements of your light fixture.
