Description

Modular Vacuum Plate 275 × 275 mm

A vacuum plate designed for workholding applications such as CNC machining, laser processing, inspection, or other projects requiring reliable vacuum fixation.

Features

  • Overall dimensions: 275 × 275 × 20 mm
  • 25 × 25 mm grid pattern
  • Designed for 6 mm sealing cord
  • 6 mm holes at each grid intersection for locating pins or alignment dowels
  • Vacuum inlet with 8.8 mm bore, suitable as the tap drill size for G 1/8" (BSP 1/8") threads
  • Four mounting slots designed for M6 socket head cap screws
  • Modular design with prepared expansion ports on the rear, left, and right sides

Expansion Options

The plate has been designed with future expansion in mind. Connection points are integrated on the rear and both side faces. These ports are currently closed but can be drilled out if required, allowing multiple vacuum plates or additional vacuum channels to be connected.

Printing Notes

The displayed plate was printed in PETG, which provides a good balance of strength and temperature resistance. Depending on the intended application, PLA may also be suitable.

For demanding environments, elevated temperatures, or higher mechanical loads, consider using a more resistant material.  I printed the vacuum plate with a 0.6 mm nozzle, 4 walls, and 35% infill in PETG. This setup resulted in a rigid and durable part suitable for vacuum workholding applications.

Important Notes

This model was designed to nominal dimensions. No manufacturing, printing, or material tolerances have been incorporated into the design. Depending on your printer calibration, material choice, and intended use, adjustments to hole diameters, sealing grooves, or mating features may be required.

Feedback, improvements, and remixes are always welcome. Enjoy!
