TVC Snowtrooper Commander Wall Mount Display

This is a custom wall-mounted display inspired by the classic TVC / vintage-style action figure cardback layout, designed for an Imperial Snowtrooper Commander figure.

The idea for this came from a very tragic and deeply unnecessary event: I ordered a TVC Snowtrooper from Amazon, and for some reason it was packed in the same box as a 24-pack of Monster Ultra cans. As you can imagine, the poor figure had a rough trip through hyperspace and arrived rather squished. So instead of just being annoyed, I decided to turn the situation into a display piece and recreate the cardback as a wall mount.

The display uses a layered 3D-printed design with raised lettering, a figure display area, and a relief-style Snowtrooper artwork panel on the right side. The Snowtrooper image panel was made using MakerLab’s Chroma tool, which was my first time trying it, and honestly I think it came out looking awesome.

The whole display mounts to the wall using a large Command strip and a French cleat-style hanger, so it can sit neatly on the wall without needing screws or permanent mounting.

Features

  • Designed for a TVC-style Snowtrooper / Imperial Snowtrooper Commander figure
  • Wall-mounted cardback-style display
  • Uses a large Command strip with a French cleat mount
  • Raised multi-colour logo and nameplate details
  • 3D relief-style Snowtrooper artwork panel made with MakerLab Chroma
  • Separate figure platform/holder
  • Great for damaged-card or loose TVC figures
  • Turns a crushed figure disaster into something display-worthy — take that, Monster cans

Printing Notes

This is designed as a multi-part print so the colours can be printed separately and assembled afterwards.

Recommended colours:

  • Black for the main backing board
  • White for the border/frame details
  • Red for the logo,
  • Hot Pink for the figure backing, and nameplate
  • White/Nardo grey for the Snowtrooper relief panel

Assembly Notes

The display is designed to hang using a large Command strip attached to the French cleat mount.

The figure holder works just slides into the backplate. The figure itself may still be a little unstable depending on the condition of your figure. In my case, after having 24 cans of Monster dropped on it, the vinyl figure did not exactly have parade-ground balance anymore, so I used a little Blu Tack to help keep it standing nicely.

No shame. The Empire uses whatever works.

Custom Figure Displays

If you have any other TVC figures you would like a wall mount display for, let me know. I’m happy to look at making more cardback-style displays for different characters.
