Description

FlightDeskRadar Pro

DeskRadar Pro is a desktop radar device powered by an ESP32 microcontroller and a compact touchscreen display. It fetches real-time flight data via the OpenSky Network API to visualize aircraft positions, allowing users to monitor aerial activity in their designated area directly from their workspace.

Your support has given me more time to create better designs, and don't forget to check out my other models too! You might find something useful! 😊

Core Capabilities

  • Live Flight Tracking: Utilizes WiFi to retrieve real-time latitude, longitude, and altitude data of aircraft, rendering their positions on a radar interface.
  • Interactive Radar Interface: Features a real-time sweep radar visualization that tracks aircraft within a user-defined radius.
  • Touchscreen Control: Includes an integrated touchscreen, enabling users to adjust settings directly on the device without needing an external computer.
  • Hardware Integration: Features an onboard buzzer for audio alerts when aircraft are detected, along with power and brightness management.

Key Features

  • Dynamic Theme System: Offers over 25 unique display themes (e.g., Classic Green, Cyberpunk, Military Sonar, Sakura Night), allowing the interface to match any workspace aesthetic.
  • Customizable Radar Range: Allows users to adjust the detection radius from 50 km to 300 km for precise monitoring.
  • Smart HUD & Status Bar: Features an optimized side HUD that displays WiFi signal strength and real-time air traffic volume without obstructing the radar grid.
  • Text Optimization: Implements an intelligent display algorithm for callsigns and altitude data, which automatically adjusts text alignment to prevent overlap at the screen edges.
  • Easy Setup Portal: Uses a WiFi Captive Portal for simple configuration via a web browser, enabling easy setup of WiFi credentials, location coordinates, and API keys.
  • Visual Alert System: Includes a "LIVE DATA" indicator to confirm that the device is successfully connected and receiving fresh information.

This project is an excellent demonstration of your proficiency in embedded systems, hardware interfacing, and network programming. Let me know if you would like me to add or refine any specific details!

Important, you need a free acount and api key from the: https://opensky-network.org/    ,it is completely free, there are no trials or whatever. In this website you will get the api key you need to input the code.  and it will work. If you have any questions - ASK!~
