The Story behind the Guardian
For centuries, he sat motionless on the highest spire of the forgotten cathedral, a silent witness to the passage of time. Carved from ancient stone by master craftsmen, his roaring maw was meant to scare away evil spirits. But when night falls and the mist creeps through the old gothic arches, the stone comes alive. Gargoyle Rex wakes from his slumber to protect the sacred grounds. With fierce eyes looking down upon the world, he stands as the eternal shield between light and darkness.
Recommended Print Settings & Tips
This model is designed as a massive XL Variant, standing at an impressive 240 mm height!
- Layer Height: 0.20 mm (Optimized for the XL size to look great while keeping print time reasonable).
- Infill: 5% Gyroid (Provides excellent structural stability without wasting filament).
- Base Integration: The figure is fully integrated with the base for a seamless look.
- Hand-Painted Look: This model looks absolutely stunning when hand-painted with acrylics! A simple stone-texture technique with a dark wash and light dry-brushing brings out all the layers and textures perfectly.
Scaling Info & Support Removal:
- Downscaling: You can easily scale this model down. If you do, we recommend printing at 0.12 mm layer height to preserve the intricate details.
- Support Warning: If scaled down, removing the supports inside the mouth area becomes quite tricky. General Recommendation: Please use a small side cutter/flush cutter to carefully remove the supports. Do not just rip them off by hand to avoid damaging the teeth or jaw!
- Bed Adhesion: Make sure your build plate is thoroughly cleaned before starting the print to ensure perfect first-layer adhesion for the wide base.
