Description

GripForge — Universal Parametric Handle Mount

One OpenSCAD file. Infinite handle mounts.

A fully parametric, print-ready handle mount that adapts to tampers, brooms, mallets, rammers, scrapers — anything that needs a solid handle-to-base connection. Dial in your exact dimensions with 25+ parameters, no code editing needed.

What makes it universal?

  • 2 to N arms — set arm_count to 2 for a slim broom mount, 3 for a classic triangle tamper base, 4 for a square footprint, or 5+ for heavy-duty polygon plates
  • Tiltable cylinder — angle the handle from 0° (vertical) up to ~45° with cyl_tilt and cyl_tilt_dir for angled broom/scraper mounts
  • Auto-adapting geometry — the base plate, gussets, fillet, and bore all follow the tilt seamlessly; low arm counts auto-widen so the plate always covers the cylinder

Features

  • Rounded polygon base plate with configurable size, thickness, and corner radius
  • Central handle cylinder with adjustable wall thickness and height
  • 2 cross-bolt holes at independent heights and angles to lock the handle in place
  • Countersunk screw holes on every arm (configurable count, spacing, chamfer angle)
  • 6 triangular reinforcement gussets (count, height, and reach adjustable), clipped to the base plate outline
  • Concave fillet ring at the cylinder–base junction for smooth stress distribution
  • Everything extends cleanly when tilted — no gaps, no floating geometry

Recommended print settings

  • Material: PETG, PETG Pro, or ASA (this will take impacts — PLA is not recommended)
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: 40–60% gyroid or cubic for shock resistance
  • Walls: 4+ perimeters
  • Orientation: print base-down, no supports needed at 0° tilt

How to use locally

  1. Open gripforge.scad in OpenSCAD (2021.01+)
  2. Open the Customizer panel (Window → Customizer)
  3. Adjust parameters to match your handle and base
  4. F6 to render, then File → Export as STL
  5. Slice with your preferred slicer and print
