Description

Detailed Garden Snail Figurine 🐌

Bring a little slow-paced charm to your desk, workspace, or indoor garden! This realistic garden snail model features high-detail sculpting optimized for clean printing and post-processing.

It makes for an excellent standalone piece when printed in a glossy or silk filament, but it truly shines as a blank canvas for a quick weekend painting project.

🛠️ Recommended Print Settings

  • Filament Used: PETG
  • Supports: None / Minimal (The organic curves, eye stalks, and shell overhangs handle surprisingly well on a well-tuned machine).
  • Infill: 10% – 15% (Gyro or Grid works perfectly).
  • Walls: 2–3 perimeters for clean surface quality.

🎨 Painting & Finishing Inspiration

If you want to pass an afternoon painting this model, here is the process I used to get the look in the project photos:

  1. Base Prime: A clean coat of grey primer to fill micro layer lines and give the acrylics a solid surface to stick to.
  2. Body Details: A metallic bronze-effect acrylic paint for the main body, which catches the light nicely and gives it a natural, organic "slimy" sheen.
  3. Shell Weathering: A rich, dark wash applied heavily to the shell and wiped back, allowing the pigment to settle deep into the spiral ridges and molded lines to make them pop.
  4. The Final Touch: A hidden streak of vibrant green acrylic right underneath the rim of the shell to look like a bit of freshly grazed garden leaf!

Feel free to drop a comment with your makes—I'd love to see what color combinations or paint jobs you come up with!
